So many options
Patience’s so short
The American dream rumbles in my stomach
Eyes getting big
Is it greed, is it lust The cravings never stop
I step up to the server
A tall man with brown hair and a beard
I tell him what I want
He piles it on my plate
But wait is this weight on my plate more than I can handle
“Tell me when to stop sir”
But I just stay silent
I guess black man is a synonym for superman
I don’t need brakes
As I struggle to finish what’s on my plate
I am humbled real quick
I am a victim of my own ignorance
A few small bites and I am full
opportunities wasted
I don’t even wanna look at the bill
Always end up paying for it later
Eating with your eyes is deception at its finest
As I open the door to exit
The server, with his long brown hair and his beard says “ please come again”
I’m nod my head
Hopefully next time I am smarter and I remember to bring my Tupperware.
