Submerged under gasping for air
Waves of miscellaneous things pass me by
I thought I had it under control
But the idea freedom cost a pretty penny
everything sprawled about in the ocean is a Band-Aid on my insecurity
What started out as just a few things turned into a bottomless pit
Who knew a little piece of plastic would dictate my dignity
They say you can’t buy property anymore
I am forever enslaved To JP Morgan
They whip, and whip, and beat and bludgeon
Whatever possessions I have are automatically ripped from my fingertips
Welcome to the life of indentured servitude
And I is a good ole boy
Forget waking up when the rooster crows
Knowing that I am “in the red” Is all the urgency I need
Still I swim Deeper, deeper, deeper my mind and body losing momentum
When will they loosen the shackles
Working my fingers to the bone
Still I buy still I spend anything to numb the pain
Soon the “ shopping closet “ becomes the “shopping room”
Engulfing the house in Buyers remorse flames
I swim I fight I kick i scream I gasp Will I make it out
The smothering smell of Benjamin Franklin swarms my existence
Now it has become clear that the end is near as take my last breath
A tear trickles down my face
When I die bury me inside the Gucci store, when I die bury me inside the Louie store
Cuz I got money to blow
