Entitled "Soggy Cereal Saturdays"

The birds chirp on Saturday morning
Soft on my soul like those buttermilk pancakes
There is excitement flowing through my veins
As I sit in the comfort of this big living room
Turning on our little TV
Letting my imagination run wild like the African plains
Grabbing the biggest bowl
I mix my two favorite cereals
Half kind hearted half imagination
Or should I say fruity pebbles and Lucky charms
Now that my mountainous masterpieces finished
I wait for the color to bleed into the canvas making my taste buds come alive
As I mix and mix
Stirring endlessly
I finally reap the benefits of my labor
As I intake this soggy bowl of Saturday goodness
All seems right in my world
Even if it is just for a few minutes
Oh what simple things can bring a Black Boy joy
